Having witnessed IFTIIN Education & Development Association’s ceremony in north London on Saturday and Sunday 4th and 5th of April respectively, was a thrilling moment for me as a freelance writer since my arrival in England almost a year. There has never been a moment of dullness, as people from all walks of life started to turn up in that bustling ceremony.
In an opening speech, their chairman Mr Osman Moalim Hassan, told the crowd that the main objectives of the ceremony were, to display IFTIIN’s achievements, the successful construction of IFTIIN ADADO PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL and above all, to get adequate donations to run the fledgling school in ADADO to cover the needs of current students and those aiming to join in future.
Mr. Hassan also said that IFTIIN association will soon implement a new scheme in which they will hire ‘mobile teachers’ who will go to rural areas to teach the nomadic people and their children as their living circumstances do not allow them to send their youngsters to schools.
As the ceremony continued, the IFTIIN members began to raise funds as some of the participants donated as much as 500 British pound.
Nonetheless, the construction of IFTIIN ADADO School is a major step forward which will boost people’s knowledge and enhance their educational skills. It will enable our children to get a peaceful environment after years of civil – war and confusion. It will also, undoubtedly, be a new era of development and prosperity.
The new school will also have a huge impact on the students and their families to get a promising future after a total failure in life. On the other hand, IFTIIN financial head, Mr Abdi Hafid Salat Siyad, said, in a short speech that the IFTIIN association will work in a transparent manner and will be an example of good leadership to get the confidence of the contributors and to enforce the association’s main purposes.
He also said that they will focus on other essential social services such as healthcare, providing people with clean water and creating an atmosphere of peace and fraternity among the society.
Finally, I would like to thank IFTIIN EDUCATION and DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION and its devoted members for their graceful invitation which left me happy and excited. Their dedication and truthfulness were amazing. Their love and admiration were vast.
Thanks.
