Humanitarian Relief:

Iftiin Works in Humaniterian field at the crisis timeScrisis as Fighting crisis born-out civil wars, draughts and other natural disasters broke out nearly every year which causes the displacement of thousands of people and disruption to the local economy.

Internally displaced people most of time settle in insecure accommodation in the hosting communities who were already them selves struggling to cope with the failure of the local crops in the drought. Levels of malnutrition increased particularly among children below 5 years and the elderly. Those who are able to move started to head to the cities, especially Mogadishu, searching for food, shelter, water and medicine. High numbers of children and elderly people die frequently in the camps due to malnutrition and associated diseases.

Iftiin provides an Emergency Food Distribution programme in response to this crisis which has significant impact on the lives of IDP families who were suffering and starving in the different camps in Mogadishu. Those who benefit most from the food distribution programme are pregnant women and children under five years and the elderly.Iftiin distributed food consists of rice, cooking oil and date palms to some of the IDPs camps in Mogadishu during the crisis time in Somalia.

Emergency relief response to famine affected targetes the most destitute families who were on the verge of dying because of starvation and malnutrition. Our Projects are Funded our Partenr organisations and also our regular somali diaspora donor members of IFTIIN in the UK, in which thousands of needy individuals received emergency food supplies which kept them alive.Iftiin Collects Second hand clothes from its members in the UK and the main beneficiaries were poor children and women.

Qurbani Projects:

Qurbani is an act of charity that takes place during Eid al Adha. Qurbani is an obligation upon every competent adult Muslim male and female who has posessions above those necessary for daily living. The beneficiaries of this project are people in most in need in the villages visited by our staff on the ground. 694 of the poorest and most needy people received help and local people reported that they never had such a project for the last two decades. The Project is funded by Muntada Aid UK in a yearly basis and some Iftiin Donor Members as well.(We Ask Allah to Reward them all)

Iftar projects

Iftar projects aim to provide food to those needy families in Somalia in the Month of Ramadan who might otherwise go without. As Our Prophet (PbU) said: “He who provides for the breaking of the Siyam (fast) of another person earns the same merit as the one who was observing Siyam (fast), without diminishing in any way the reward of the latter.” (Tirmidhi).

We ask Allah to accept our deeds and help us provide Iftar for our Muslim brothers and sisters each year. Iftar projects have had a direct impact on our communities most in need. Iftiin is very grateful it has been able to do this project which benefits over 1000 families each year mainly in Fuqaraa and Masakiin, with many thanks to all our contributors.
